—— The Second International Competition of “Li Paper（gift paper）” Pattern Design
Li paper(gift paper) is the paper of the state of etiquette.
It is divided into two parts, Li and paper.
Li stands for etiquette and custom culture in the state of etiquette , which reflects in patterns. And excellent traditional culture, etiquette and custom culture in the state of etiquette can be performed on paper through patterns and derived into products. Its intention is to continuously plenitude and enrich the cultural life of the modern generations, and re-examine and inherit the fine traditional culture.
Paper stands for the standard and culture of paper. It is one of the four great inventions in Old China, and it carries the history of human civilization. China ancient paper, which is the crystallization of the wisdom of the Chinese people, has ever been so closer and so proud to us. Paper and patterns is the essentials and luxury products of daily life in many developed countries so far. Concept of Li paper(gift paper) introduction will let more people familiar with it, utilize it and make it as a part of our aesthetic life.
The introduction andpresentation of Li paper(gift paper) and its etiquette culture is the perfectreflection of life ceremony, and its derivatives serves and changes ouraesthetic life. The more people are united for Courtesy paper, the more we are aware of insisting thisroad we should take. "The way stretches endless ahead; we shall searchheaven or earth." This is the portrayal of Li paper(gift paper). We firmly believe that more and morepeople will understand, accept and like it.
The first International Competition and Invitational Exhibition of "Li Paper" (gift paper) pattern design was held in April 2017. More than 150 well-known designers from 26 countries were invited to the exhibition, and more than 300 pieces of artwork design (including series) were received. Furthermore a total number of 4300 pieces of artwork design came from the domestic and international designers associations whilst more than 60 universities of art and design also participated in.
In the past year or so, Zhijia has participated in more than 10 domestic cultural and creative exhibitions, including Jiangsu Book Fair, Suzhou Innovation Expo, Shenzhen Cultural Expo, Beijing Design Week, Nanjing Culture & Technology Integration Exhibition Achievement Fair, Wuxi Cultural Expo, Ningbo Cultural Expo, Inner Mongolia Cultural Expo, Chengdu Design Week, the first Yangtze River Delta Cultural Expo and the UAE Service Trade Expo. Zhijia also derives a series of products of "aesthetic life" with the characteristics of Li paper(gift paper) , aiming at promoting the influence of Chinese culture in modern design and the innovation of paper design, as well as promoting the integration and development of Chinese creative cultural industry. The first International Competition and exhibition intents to learn our own national culture from the outside of its maternal culture and has found its more charming side. This is the reason why Chinese culture has attracted more attention from the world. Interpretations of the concept of "Courtesy paper" from the perspective of the world results in collision between designers from China and the world into a unique interpretation of this proposition, which are the characteristics of the Times, modern and cultural charming.
Starting from the Jiangsu Book Fair in 2017, the second Li paper(gift paper) exhibition will be presented at the Suzhou Printing Fair in 2019. ZhiJia will continue to work with designers to interpret "Li paper"(gift paper) , and this activity will be promoted and held in Designers associations, universities and companies at all levels throughout the country as a normalized competition activity.Many famous internationally graphic designers, experts and professors will be acted as judges of this competition. The powerful expert jury of this competition is composed of well-known international designers and scholars；They will select works in accordance with international practice and the latest standards strictly.
1. The competition works collection began on December 1, 2019.
2. Publish the name list of judges one month after publication;
3. Mail collectingartwork design from late December, 2019;
4. Publish the participating name list of invitational exhibitors and promote artworks in late December, 2019,
5. The deadline for the collection of works was February 20, 2020 (24:00).
6. Preliminary judge and publicize the selected artworks in late February, 2020;
7. Final judge the artwork in mid March 2020.
8. Exhibition work of Suzhou Innovation Expo on April 17-20, 2020.
1. The Chinese traditional festivals, the 24 solar terms, the etiquette culturepromotion.
It interprets festivals and solar terms with patterns to enhancethe sense of ceremony festival and solar terms, and increase the applicationscene of Li paper(gift paper) .
Remarks: materials can be based on thetraditional cultural elements and colors of each region, traditional storiesand old trade images, intangible cultural heritage, gardens, etc .
2. Regional culture along the Grand Canal
The Grand Canal was successfully listed as a world heritage site in 2014. It is the only world cultural heritage in use in China and has a rich heritage accumulation. "The Grand Canal began in the spring and autumn period, completed in the sui dynasty, flourished in the tang and song dynasties, reached in the yuan dynasty, dredged in the Ming and qing dynasties, and ended in the late qing dynasty". It is unique with long time span, wide territorial scope and many covering people. The design and promotion of the Grand Canalelements will be of great significance to the protection of cultural heritage, the inheritance of Chinese civilization and the creation of national cultural symbols.
3. The theme of Silk Road
Overland passage, originated in the western Han Dynasty, with chang 'an (present-day xi 'an) as the starting point, through gansu, xinjiang to central Asia, west Asia, and connecting the Mediterranean countries . On June 22, 2014, the eastern section of the overland silk road jointly declared by China, kazakhstan and kyrgyzstan, namely "silk road: network of changan-tianshan corridor", was successfully declared as a world cultural heritage site and became the first project to be included in the world heritage list through cross-border cooperation. It is of great significance to promote the cultural integration between the east and the west, commercial culture, landform and religious culture.
Both paper and silk used to be important commodities on this road. Patterns on paper and silk used to flow into foreign countries with some important culture and dissolve in local culture and life. We will also focus on inviting designers from all countries along the way to participate in patterns design in the invitational exhibition, so that we can see the interpretation of blended culture in modern times.

2. Submission requirements
Soft artwork design requires:
a.The design is represented by lines and points as elements to facilitate post-production
b. Artworks need to be uploaded as single or several pages of size 50 x 70cm in high definition image(HD image), color illustration or photo can be, the file format is "pdf", cmyk , each image does not exceed 5M.
c. An additional RGB file with a resolution of 300dpi in “jpg “format required
d. Entries: a description of the creative text; a description of crafting process; a description of the schematic illustration of the derivative.
e. Artwork requires 3-6 sets of colors combination(including black or white, gold or silver)
Note: In addition to Li paper(gift paper) printing, the printing process can also be screen-printed. It is recommended to use single-color or two-color for the screen process, with a maximum of 4 single-color.Monochrome screen printing can refer to the pictureat the end of the case .
1. There is no limit to the number of artworks sent by individuals;
2. No more than three authors of group entries;
3. For the entries, please do the copyright registration work at the same time;
4. The entries will not be returned whether they are selected or not. Please keep the manuscript for yourself.

The participated artwork must be original creation by the designer or the team, or if the artwork is involved in copyright, intellectual property rights or any other disputes, the designer shall take the full legal responsibilities and the designer will be disqualified for the competition by the organizing committee.
The organizing committee has the right to exhibit, publish, promote, collect and display all the participated artworks on television, Internet, print or broadcast media. The contest portfolio will be published by the official publisher. The selected works will be announced on the Zhijia public account,the official Weibo(Blog) of the contest, and ZhimeiDongfang Weibo. The portfolio will be available for sale in the ZhimeiDongfang Taobao shop channel.
参赛对象：全球视觉、产品、服装设计师及纹样相关研究者；从事插画、手绘、版画及相关的专业人员；从事国画、油画等艺术工作的专业人员；全球全日制大学及大专院校设计专业在校研究生、本科生、专升本、 大专生和进修生，成人教育院校、 高等教育自学考试学生和进修生。
